SHOW PREVIEW – Roksonix @ APK LIVE, Thursday January 19th

If you are a basshead residing in London, Ontario, you have been blessed with countless opportunities to fill your standard prescription. Many of these are thanks to the awesome people at Outerbass Productions, who have brought Original Sin, Calvertron, and Crissy Criss to our humble abode to rage with us 519-ers. After booking the masked maniac that is Funtcase in November, they have roped in fellow Circus Records labelmates Roksonix, who are set to tear up APK Live next Thursday. As many of you know, Circus is currently home to many of the best producers currently in the dubstep scene, not the least of which are heads Doctor P and Flux Pavilion. Having the opportunity to catch Roksonix live is something I have wanted to experience ever since I got into bass music, and if you are remotely into dubstep I highly recommend coming down to APK to check out their set. To that extent, I have prepared a little preview of the duo’s best and most popular tracks for you to sample and get prepared for one of the first of many great shows in 2012.

Here is a download link to Roksonix’s hour long mix on BBC Radio 1xtra’s Daily Dose of Dubstep. On top of being a fantastic mix, it gives a perfect idea of what to expect from their live set.

As mentioned above, Circus Records has been releasing banger after banger from their label, and this 20 minute sample mixtape puts them all into one easily digestible package. Expect to hear many of these rinsed on the 19th.

Finally, here a few of Roksonix’s killer original/remix tracks. I tried to limit myself to 2 or 3, but couldn’t leave out some of these out with good conscience.

Now that you’ve had a taste, come out to APK Live on Thursday, January 19th to see Roksonix in action!

BONUS: On top of that, the show will also feature GTA MC/Promoter extraordinaire Hydee. If you’ve been to any noteworthy bass show in Toronto or its surrounding areas in the past year or so, there’s a high probability that you’ve seen him throw down a killer set. After wetting the crowd’s appetite before Funtcase brought the place down in November, he’s back to do the same for Roksonix. He just dropped a new Drum and Bass mix check it out here. One of the most hard-working guys out there, he puts on a great show and everyone needs to experience a “HY-DEE” chant at least once in their lives.
